Native founders, Kate Harrison and Wendy Pannett, have a passion for
New Zealand made. That's why everything about Native is 100% 'native'.Native began as a designer t-shirt brand but has since diversified and added women's sweaties to its range. Keep an eye open for more new exciting developments from Native. Kate and Wendy came up with the concept of top quality, New Zealand made T-shirts when they couldn't find anything they wanted to wear themselves. Both keen windsurfers, the friends decided if they were going to find T's smart enough to wear to the office - but durable enough for their outdoor lifestyles - they'd have to create them themselves. Native's range of clothing began from there. Kate, who has a background in the wine industry, brings valuable sales experience to Native. Native gets its marketing and public relations experience from Wendy, who has her own communications consultancy, The PR Department (www.prdept.co.nz). Friends and family play a major role in the success of Native, taking part in regular photo shoots, design brainstorms and product testing! Inspiration for Native's designs comes to the friends during walks around Wellington's Coast, afternoon's spent windsurfing on the harbour or during frequent trips south to the stunning landscapes of Central Otago.
